The 4th District - Wieden

Wieden is one of the most urban and bustling districts of Vienna – only a few walking minutes away from the inner city!

Sightseeing recommendations:

The most important sights, mostly all part of our TOP ATTRACTIONS section, are very nearby - you can reach them all on foot: the Karlskirche, the Wien Museum (historical museum on Vienna), the Paulanerkirche and the Naschmarkt.

The baroque style Karlskirche is famous for its remarkable structural shape and its world famous Frescos on its ceiling – it is the biggest and most important church in Vienna next to the Stephansdom.

And, do not miss out on this trendy „district": Wieden has become the most popular residential neighbourhood in Vienna in the past decades. It attracts young people and artists. It hosts lots of small bars, the most important contemporary galleries and original design shops. Taking a stroll through the 4th district is not only a cultural highlight, but it will give you an idea of how young urban Viennese live and enjoy their home city.

And then again, do not forget to stop for lunch or a coffee at one of the most famous open markets in town - the Naschmarkt!
