The Baroque Schoenbrunn Palace Orangery provides an extraordinary setting for events that feature classical music. It was frequently used as the perfect location for sumptuous festivities with musical performances back in the times of the Habsburg dynasty.
Mozart loved performing at the Orangery: In 1785, he conducted the world premiere of his music drama 'The Impresario' here. Also, the musical duel between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri took place during one of the many concerts he performed here. It was to remain a unique incident in the history of music.
The Baroque Orangery is home to the reowned Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna. In the carefully renovated concert hall, a protected monument, you will enjoy extraordinary music with sophisticated acoustics and a phantastic view to the Orangery garden; you will mostly hear interpretations of the masterworks of Mozart and Strauss. The setting is unique and definitely an evening to remember!
