Description

Experience Vienna aboard the MS Wien and MS Vindobona ships. The MS Vindobona, designed by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser with distinctive coloring, is a city attraction itself. Choose from two routes on the Grand Danube Tour: “green Vienna” (Route A) or “modern Vienna” (Route B).

The tour starts at Vienna City station at Schwedenplatz, passing the Urania observatory and continues through the green heart of Vienna and the Prater woods. After the Freudenau lock, the ship docks at Marina Wien. From there, the tour follows the shores of Danube Island, passing a grain silo converted into a hotel and a stadium, before continuing to the Reichsbrücke station.

From Reichsbrücke or Marina Wien station, see modern Vienna’s Danube plateau skyline, including Danube Tower and Millennium Tower. After passing through the Nussdorf lock system, the tour enters the Danube Canal, showcasing historic Vienna with architectural highlights like the Hundertwasser District Heating Plant in Spittelau, Roßau Barracks, Ringturm, and Urania observatory. The cruise ends at Schwedenplatz station in central Vienna.
