Description

This private, closed-group tour visits the Vienna Central Cemetery sections from Gate 2 to the Jewish section at Gate 1. You will view honorary graves such as Beethoven, Johann Strauss, the Thonet family, Hans Moser, Manfred Deix, and Udo Jürgens. Note that Falco's grave is not included as it is located at Gate 3.

The tour includes a guided visit to the cemetery church in Art Nouveau style. Afterwards, there is a 15-minute walk without commentary to the old Jewish Cemetery section, where head coverings are required for men in accordance with Jewish tradition.

The Jewish section is known for its imposing tombs and historical significance as the second most important institution of the Jewish community after the synagogue. Visitors may even spot deer in this area.

Since January 2024, a solidarity contribution of EUR 3 per person is required on site for the preservation of Vienna’s cemeteries, payable in cash to the guide.
