Description
Step into the mysterious shadows of Vienna on an atmospheric 2-hour night walk with a local storyteller and discover the eerie secrets hidden behind the city's grand imperial facade.
Begin outside the Gothic portal of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, decoding mysterious mason symbols and markings carved into its ancient stones. From there, slip away from the crowded avenues into Vienna's oldest medieval maze. Venture down the cobblestones of haunted Blutgasse and slip through heavy wooden doorways into quiet, lantern-lit Pawlatschen courtyards where the Black Death and the Knights Templar left their lingering marks.
Weave through the dim, curving Schönlaternengasse to hear the chilling myth of the petrifying Basilisk, then emerge onto the historic Graben to confront the haunting figures of the Great Plague Column and the Baroque beauty of St. Peter’s Church. Wander deeper into the quiet alleys around Judenplatz, uncovering gripping medieval memories, forgotten souls, and dark local folklore.
Continue toward the imperial Hofburg Palace, where flickering streetlamps illuminate centuries of Habsburg power, strange imperial scandals, and the ghostly legend of the restless 'White Lady.' Finally, pass through shadowy palace archways into the vast expanse of Heldenplatz, where imperial glory meets the haunting echoes of 20th-century history.
