Description
The cruise begins at the Schiffsstation Wien / Reichsbrücke and heads downstream along the impressive skyline of the Danube Plain. Shortly after setting sail, you will enjoy spectacular views of some of the city's most striking buildings: the DC Tower, Vienna's tallest building; the Danube Tower, which dominates the cityscape at 252 meters (830 feet); and the Millennium Tower, considered one of the landmarks of modern Vienna.
The cruise then continues towards the Freudenau lock, passing by the Buddhist Pagoda, a tranquil structure located right on the banks of the Danube. Here, the boat will turn around and head upstream. Along this stretch, delightful views open up of Donauinsel, Vienna's popular local recreation area, and of the unspoiled natural landscape of the Danube floodplains, which are among the last large floodplain forests in Europe.
The boat continues upstream in the direction of Klosterneuburg. There, Klosterneuburg Monastery, with its imposing Baroque architecture, towers over the landscape. Shortly before heading back, the boat passes Kuchelau Harbor, an idyllic natural harbor that, with its calm waters and surrounding green landscapes, creates a truly unique atmosphere.
After this eventful journey, the boat will finally return to the Schiffsstation Wien / Reichsbrücke.
