Description
Escape the heat of Vienna on a relaxed guided tour of the Rax plateau, one of the nearest alpine areas with spectacular views of the Eastern Alps. The area has inspired notable visitors such as Sigmund Freud. Unlike other trips that only show the Alps from a distance, this tour lets you explore the mountains up close.
Your adventure begins with a comfortable transfer from Vienna to the cable car station. The cable car ride lasts about 8 minutes each way and brings you to the alpine plateau. From there, you will walk scenic nature trails while enjoying views of the surrounding mountains. The tour includes a rest stop at a traditional mountain hut.
You will also have the option to take a refreshing swim in a mountain river before returning to Vienna in the evening. This full-day experience leaves you refreshed and inspired with alpine memories.
The tour requires a minimum booking of two spots to proceed. If you book a single spot, the operator will notify you if another participant joins so you can cancel the second spot; otherwise, you get a private tour.
