Description
The tour starts at the 'Neue Donau' station on the U6 metro line. After a brief introduction to the history of the Old Danube, the group walks about 10 minutes to the boat.
The electric boat cruise heads to Gänsehäufel, passing notable points such as the Danube Tower, one of Austria's tallest buildings. The guide explains the development of bathing areas along the Old Danube and the Danube Park.
The route includes a detour to Kaiserwasser and a visit to UNO City, where Vienna hosts multiple United Nations offices. At Gänsehäufel, one of Vienna's largest lido areas, passengers disembark briefly (swimming is not permitted). The boat then returns to the dock, completing the tour in about 1.5 hours on the water.
