Experience Christmas in Vienna through one of Austria’s most beloved Advent traditions: baking Christmas cookies together. Join a small-group baking workshop in a local Viennese home and learn to make three Austrian Christmas classics from scratch: Vanillekipferl, Linzer Augen, and Kokosbusserl. Prepare the different doughs and fillings, shape your Vanillekipferl, assemble jam-filled Linzer Augen, and make traditional coconut Kokosbusserl. No previous baking experience is needed – you’ll be guided through each recipe step by step. While the cookies bake, prepare homemade Glühwein (mulled wine) and non-alcoholic Christmas punch together. Enjoy your drinks and freshly baked cookies while learning about Austrian Advent traditions, Christmas baking, and Vienna’s famous Christkindlmärkte. The workshop takes place around the kitchen table in a relaxed, personal atmosphere. Along the way, get local recommendations for Christmas markets and other places to experience Vienna during the festive season. At the end of the workshop, pack your freshly baked cookies into your own Christmas cookie box to take home, together with the recipes for all three varieties.
