Directions to Burgtheater
The Burgtheater is also known as 'Burg' or 'Haus am Ring' (House at the Ringstrasse boulevard) has obtained a world-wide reputation for brilliant dramatic art and is one of the first theaters of German-speaking Europe. Actors in the German-speaking world aspire to becoming part of the troupe of actors featured here. It is an honor as well as a high-society ranking to be a part of the Burgtheater.
Built in the late 19th century, the beautiful facade is adorned with statues of famous writers like Goethe and Schiller (you will find their statues exhibited on the Ringstrasse too).
Inside, the Burgtheater provides a festive atmosphere for great cultural events.
Tip: the Vestibühel Restaurant located in the Burgtheater building itself is a great and upscale place to finish a great evening with a delicious dinner. Make sure you make a reservation though!
