Kunsthaus Wien
Vienna
Hundertwasser was one of the most fervent supporters of contemporary art. He therefore created an exhibition center where you can view a permanent exhibition of his works as well as changing exhibitions of exciting contemporary art.
The building used to be a furniture factory until Hundertwasser completely transformed - he did this using his very specific style: irregular elements of glass, metal, bricks, wood and ceramic tiles - the museum is now something really unique in Vienna, and you will not be likely to experience something similar again.
On the ground floor, there is a café-restaurant and a shop.
Another tip: Not far from Kunsthaus, there is a great place to take a break and have a light lunch: the 'Hundertwasser-Haus'. This is Vienna's most original public housing complex that you really should visit (see top attractions section! Within the building you will find the Café 'Kunst und Cafe' (ground floor), where you not only can have quick lunch, but where you also are able to see a movie on the Hunderwasser Haus, with the artist himself guiding you through his work of art! This is definitely interesting if you are into this architecture style.
