Pratersauna

Vienna

The Pratersauna still radiates the charm of the 1960s. Its merits are particularly evident in summer. No other club in the city has such a lovely pool in the garden, which is open for swimming in the afternoon during the summer season. At other times, the swimming pool is illuminated during the night and acts as an attractive setting for parties.

Inside the Pratersauna, several floors operate at the same time; people can also dance right next to the cold plunge pool of the former sauna. Mostly Minimal Techno is played at 'Aufguss', while the 'Praterei' club specializes in electronic acts. In summer, the parties spill out onto the garden and terrace. In January 2012, readers of the German magazine de:bug selected Pratersauna for the second time already as the second-best club in Europe.

Many parts of the old sauna, which was built in 1965, intermingle with contemporary, newly designed elements. The façade, bar area and WCs of the Pratersauna have been completely redesigned. The toilets in particular are a sensation, thanks to the designers from All Austrian Arts. Other parts of the Pratersauna are still charmingly improvised.

Normal bathing is offered on summer afternoons as well as special pool events with DJs on weekends. Pratersauna has even had its own exhibition room, the PS ArtSpace, since May 2011. Exhibitions and installations by renowned artists are on display here.
