It is a ways out from the center, not too bad. Well worth the trip for us though, first time in Vienna just to get the feel and culture. Plenty of locals. The pork knuckle was super crispy. We also tried some local beer.
The service was very fast, and the staff was friendly. The pork drumsticks were tasty and definitely worth trying, although I have had even better ones in Germany. The only thing that could be improved is the quality of the tables and chairs, as they feel a bit cheap and are not very comfortable. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would recommend this place.
A must-visit if you're in Vienna! The beer was fresh, cold, and paired perfectly with the famous pork knuckle. The pork knuckle was definitely different from what I'm used to, but in a great way—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor. It was a fun local experience and I'm glad I tried it. The lively atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend giving it a try!
I only visit this place because of the huge pork leg. This is cooked so good that I've never had it everywhere quite like this. The pork skin crispy, the fat melting, everything is better than the lean meat. This is not my first time, and I will continue to visit every time I'm in Vienna. The beer goes well because it's not so carbonated, which leaves room for the pork leg. Service and atmosphere is as you would expect from a beer garden.
I’ve tried many pork knuckles (Stelze), and this one is by far the best. The crispy skin combined with juicy meat creates an irresistible bite. The way the meat effortlessly separates from the bone is truly delightful. We ordered mustard, but we didn’t even need it—the flavor was perfect on its own. The mixed original Budweiser Budvar from Czechia was the perfect pairing for the Stelze. It’s quite large and enough for two, so we decided to take some home. Despite the busy atmosphere of the restaurant, it feels surprisingly relaxed—sharing tables with others is quite normal; just be polite and considerate of reserved times. The food arrived quickly, even as the foam on our beers stayed wonderfully bubbly without diminishing.
