Description

Welcome to a guided tour of Salzburg that will fire your imagination! Join me on a journey through the vibrant history of this city, where past and present merge in a magical dance. But there will be no boring history lessons or dry facts here. No, this will be an experience that will awaken your senses and ignite your curiosity. Let's start with a 'Baroque Stroll: From Myths to the Sound of Music'. Immerse yourself in the world of Greek mythology as we stroll through the breathtaking Mirabell Gardens, where Pegasus sits majestically on the fountain of the same name. Here, the old and exciting legends, with which the archbishops in particular adorned themselves, were brought to life with the help of the baroque statues. However, 1000 years of the Salzburg Church State have left behind other interesting traces: Mirabell Palace, which was once built as a 'pleasure palace' for the mistress of an archbishop, is of course a must-see. We stroll on to Makartplatz, where the Mozart residence and the birthplace of the famous Christian Doppler can be found. But be warned, the many old names of Makartplatz often conceal dodgy stories just waiting to be discovered by us. The old town awaits us with a breathtaking panoramic view and the calming sound of the Salzach in the background. Crossing the Feingoldsteg, the romantic bridge of love, our route takes us through the Unesco World Heritage Site of the Old Town, the monastery district and Furtwänglerpark, where history meets modernity. The majestic Salzburg Cathedral and the imposing Mozart statue are just some of the highlights that await us. It is not for nothing that the Cathedral Square, Mozart Square and three other squares are also known as the 'Rome of the North'. If you're feeling sporty, you can also take a pair of hiking boots up the Mönchsberg, where you'll be rewarded with a wonderful panoramic view from the Museum der Moderne. Of course, it's also more comfortable for those who prefer to take the Mönchsberg lift with me. And of course I also have something special in store for fans of 'The Sound of Music' - we visit the iconic film locations and immerse ourselves in the world of probably the most famous film that has made Salzburg internationally famous. But this tour is not just a walk through history, it's also a journey to the places scarred by the Second World War, a reminder of the turmoil and reconstruction of this fascinating city. So, are you ready for a baroque walk that will enchant your senses and touch your soul? Then join us on this unforgettable adventure through Salzburg! And don't forget to stop off at one of the cosy coffee houses after this exciting tour to soak up the welcoming atmosphere of the city. Experience Salzburg like never before - I see you in Salzburg!
