Directions to Augarten Contemporary
The structure, features windows tilted to the north and many wide spaces. It is located in an English landscape garden and in recent years accommodated renowned shows such as Bert Neumann, BC21 Art Award Boston Consulting & BelvedereContemporary, Constantin Luser, Ouyang Chung and VALIE EXPORT: Series.
Since February 2012, the space has been run by Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, which has allowed the Augarten Contemporary to maintain its innovative and versatile character.
This is a very peculiar art space, as the 'Artist in Residence' Program allows for international artists to spend time in Vienna and therefore develop and present their work, familiarize themselves with the Austrian art scene and enter into a dialogue with it.
